Tried and True Favorite Cat Treats

Having 2 cats ourselves, and having picky eater cats in the past - we’ve tried a LOT of things! But also working with mainly cats and dogs, we have a few surprise treats as well! Here’s our favorite Kitty treats, in no particular order:
Churu - any and ALL flavors - we use these daily with our senior kitty when she gets her meds. We make a “churu sandwich” - A blob of Churu, the pill on top, and another blob. She eats it us easily (even with few teeth left). We have several clients who also use it to medicate their cats - or another, is as a distraction! Put a little bit on a lick mat (we really like this pack because it comes with 4, and a scrub brush for easy cleaning). Just squeeze some on, and let the cat have at it! This is a great distraction for when needing to give sub-q fluids (it distracts the cat enough so we can get their needle started and keep them still while administering fluids).
Vital Freeze Dried Raw Minnows - I mean, what cat doesn’t like fish? We love the entire Vital line (Our younger cat LOVES the Freeze Dried Chicken Hearts). Just a word of warning - our feline friends can ONLY have single source protein treats, so be careful when buying freeze dried treats - this is another reason we love Vital Essentials! And yes… they make food as well as treats.
Applaws Natural Cat Treats, Grain-Free, High-Protein - there’s a few varieties - our cats love the Tuna Loin and the Salmon Loin. There’s also a Mackerel Loin & Tilapia Loin. I know, these can get expensive - they often have sales and coupons on Amazon. We also split one loin between 2 cats - definitely just a treat, and not a full meal! Applaws also makes cat food (which several of our clients love!)
The New Zealand Natural Pet Food Company - Here’s a newer company we learned of, and so far, our clients are loving it (and the cats too!) They have a dog (woof) and cat (meow) line of freeze dried treats. Our clients actually use the freeze dried cat food as a treat (we have one client who’s kitty LOVES the Lamb & Hoki recipe). They also offer air dried cat food (the difference? Freeze dried is nutrient dense, but air dried is closer to a natural, more jerky like texture.) They also have a few novel proteins as well (green mussel, as well as venison lung).
We’ve tried to cover the more nuanced cat treats, and things you can’t always find everywhere. We know there’s many others out there as well - but here’s a good start to finding something every cat will love!
